Welcome to Readfast. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Readfast application and services (the "Service") operated by Jack Mitchell ("we", "our", or "us").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

1. Accounts

1.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

1.2 Account Requirements

You must:

• Be at least 13 years of age to use the Service
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your account information up to date
• Not share your account with others
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent Service limitations

1.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

2. Subscriptions and Payments

2.1 Free Tier

The Service offers a free tier with limited features (1,000 words per day, 1 document). Free tier usage is subject to these limits and may be modified at any time.

2.2 Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions provide unlimited access to the Service. Available plans include:

• Pro Weekly: Billed weekly at $5/week
• Pro Yearly: Billed annually at $50/year
• Lifetime Pro: One-time payment of $59.99 for lifetime access

2.3 Billing and Renewal

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled
• You will be charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
• Payment is processed securely through Stripe
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

2.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that time.

2.5 Refunds

We generally do not provide refunds for subscription fees. However, we may provide refunds at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. Lifetime Pro purchases may be refunded within 7 days of purchase if you have not used the Service extensively.

3. Acceptable Use

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Service for lawful purposes to read and process your own documents and content for personal or professional use.

3.2 Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to transmit malware or harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4. User Content

4.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents and content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of uploading or publishing it.

4.2 License to Us

By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

4.3 Content Responsibility

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
• Your User Content does not infringe on third-party rights
• Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable laws

4.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality (excluding User Content), is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or included software without our express written permission.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement or course of performance
• That the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• That defects will be corrected
• That the Service is free of viruses or harmful components

We do not guarantee any specific reading speed improvements or results from using the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or harmful code that may be transmitted through the Service
• Any errors or omissions in any content

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Readfast and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your User Content
• Your violation of any third-party rights

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

• Breach of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• At our sole discretion

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Readfast regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
